FILM SERIES
Racconti immaginari

Since March 21st, Armani/Silos has been hosting the sixth Film Series, entitled "Racconti Immaginari" ("Imaginary Tales"). The artist, Paolo Ventura, chose the films for the selection, which takes its title from the exhibition currently on show at Armani/Silos.

The sinister scenes in Brazil, the journey into a dystopian future in The Lobster, the oddball community in an unusual apartment block in Delicatessen, the narrative pictures of A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence and, finally, the parallel and hypochondriacal universe of Synecdoche, New York, like Ventura’s works, will amaze viewers, transporting them into a surreal world and captivating them with surprising "imaginary tales".

"I'm fascinated by the ability of film to create imaginary stories and to invent non-existent worlds, making them seem real. It’s a little like a magician’s hat from which endless tales can be pulled out. I like to think that something very similar happens with my works, where the lead is taken by an apparently wholly plausible memory or fantasy" Paolo Ventura
